When a team's rebounding total mirrors their number of turnovers, the outcome will tend to favor the opposition. That's exactly what happened last night at the Max Ziel Gymnasium as the Oswego State woen's basketball team coughed the ball up 33 times. St. Lawrence College took full advantage, pulling away with a 62-49 win on the road to send the Lakers to their fifth loss in seven games.
Oswego State made just six field goals in the second half and the trio of Rachel Kohrs, Tricia Sullivan and Heather Merino shot a combined 0-for-11 from the field on the night. Despite the shooting woes, the Lakers were able to put two players in double figures. Guard Traci Bacon poured in 16 points while forward Colleen McReady tallied 11 points.
The Lakers saw their record fall to 4-5 while the Saints improved their mark to 6-2. Oswego State looks to snap a three-game losing streak tomorrow night when they visit Clarkson for a 6 p.m. tip-off.

I'm a sports reporter who most recently covered Syracuse University football for Clear Channel Syracuse (620 WHEN & 570 WSYR).
I attended SUNY Oswego where I majored in Broadcasting-
Mass Communications. I was also the Voice of the Lakers (VOTL) from 2007-2009 on 88.9 FM WNYO Oswego. It was during this time that I created this blog, then known as the WNYO Sports Blog. Upon leaving Oswego, I took the blog with me. I am a supporter of SU & Oswego State Athletics, as well as the New York Yankees, NY Giants, and NY Rangers. The VOTL.com is also simulcast on Bleacher Report.
