Saints Dominate Glass in Win Over Men's Hoops

St. Lawrence muscled their way to a 45-32 rebound advantage last night en route to a 90-87 victory over Oswego State at the Max Ziel Gymnasium. Former Fayetteville-Manlius standout Tom Wopperer (pictured) sparked the St. Lawrence offense with 26 points to lead the Saints to their second straight road win.

Laker guard Tommy Downing reached 1,000 career points, but took nearly as many shots on the night to get there. The senior from Staten Island converted on just six of his 23 field goal attemps, including a 2-for-12 performance from beyond the arc. He finished with 16 points to go with his nine assists.

Stanley Francois and Chad Burridge eached had a double-double for Oswego State in the losing effort. Francois shot an efficient 8-for-9 from the field, finishing with 18 points and eleven rebounds. Burridge led the team with 21 points and also had eleven rebounds.

Oswego State has now lost three of their last four. They'll look to snap a two-game losing streak when they visit Clarkson tomorrow night for a 6 p.m. tip-off.
