Field Hockey on the Board!

Oswego State field hockey scored their first win of the 2007 season 2-0 over Morrisville Saturday at Laker Field. The Lakers and Mustangs battled to a scoreless tie through one half of play before freshmen Brittany Roetzer found the back of the net for her first collegiate goal in the 39th minute. Sophomore Lauren Mastriano (Liverpool) recorded her second goal of the season in the 46th minute to help seal the victory for Oswego State.

Freshman Jamie Scharfe got her first start in goal and stopped six shots while recording a shutout for the Lakers. Oswego State improves to 1-5 on the year, 1-0 in SUNYAC conference play. Morrisville falls to 0-4, 0-1 in the SUNYAC. The Lakers return to action Wednesday when they travel to Cortland to take on the nationally-ranked Red Dragons.
