The Syracuse University men's basketball squad put six scorers in double-figures as they rolled to a 101-55 victory over the Black Bears of Maine.
Freshman point guard Brandon Triche led all Orange scorers with 16 points, connecting on all but one of his seven field goal attempts. Fellow frosh Mookie Jones led the team's long-range attack, connecting on four of seven shots from behind the arc as he finished with 12 points.
Senior Andy Rautins turned in another well-rounded effort with eight points, nine assists, four rebounds, and two steals. Surprisingly enough, All-American hopeful Wes Johnson was not among those who reached double-figures for Syracuse. The junior transfer tallied seven points on just six shot attempts, but blocked four shots at the defensive end and pulled down six rebounds.
The #7/#8 nationally-ranked Orange improved their record to a perfect 8-0 on the season, Maine fell to 3-4. The game served as the final tune-up for Syracuse before their highly-anticipated match-up Thursday night against the #13/#17 Florida Gators (8-0).
