Changes

Welcome to TheVOTL.com.  This is the blog formally known as WNYOsports.com, an online outlet I created in the summer of 2007 after I was elected sports director of SUY Oswego radio station 88.9 FM WNYO.  New WNYO sports director Matt Solomon has now created a new WNYO sports blog which can be found here.

Solly will also relieve me as the radio voice of Oswego State men's ice hockey.  I haven't spoken with Solly about his plans, but I imagine he will broadcast the entire season, home and away, the way I did the past two years (save for that Thanksgiving Wisconsin trip).  Solly produced the majority of the games I called during the 2008-09 season and is most deserving of the honor of calling games for the 2009-10 season.  Here's hoping he keeps it to five-or-less Mike Lange references per game.

As for this site, you will still be able to read up on Oswego State men's ice hockey as I plan to continue blogging about the program.  However, due to the fact that this site is no longer affiliated with WNYO, I no longer feel obligated to write about the sports that I hate (sorry, swimming & diving).  Since I have moved back to Syracuse, you can expect to see more "coverage" of the CNY sports scene.  I will be attending the start of the Doug Marrone era on Sept. 5 and plan to provide a first-hand account of Greg Paulus and the Syracuse Orange football squad owning the Gophers (I pray).  I'll also chronicle my adventures as a laid-off sports reporter (from Syracuse's 620 AM WHEN) trying to "re-start" my career in a struggling industry.

To those of you who have followed this blog for the past two years, I thank you.  Might I also add, don't go anywhere.  I hope to keep this site running for awhile.
