The Oswego State women's basketball dropped their fifth straight game tonight, 82-51 at SUNY Cortland. The Red Dragons never trailed and led for the final 38:50 to cruise to their fourth straight conference win this season.
Cortland's defense stymied the Lakers who put just one scorer in double figures; Kayla Ryan tallied 18 points to lead all scorers. The Red Dragons dominated the glass as well, outrebounding Oswego State 48-27.
The loss marks the first blemish on the Lakers' conference mark this season, dropping them to 2-1 in SUNYAC play. Oswego State's overall record now sits at 4-7, they have lost seven of nine after starting the season 2-0.

Losing Streak Hits 5 For Women's Hoops
I'm a sports reporter who most recently covered Syracuse University football for Clear Channel Syracuse (620 WHEN & 570 WSYR).
I attended SUNY Oswego where I majored in Broadcasting-
Mass Communications. I was also the Voice of the Lakers (VOTL) from 2007-2009 on 88.9 FM WNYO Oswego. It was during this time that I created this blog, then known as the WNYO Sports Blog. Upon leaving Oswego, I took the blog with me. I am a supporter of SU & Oswego State Athletics, as well as the New York Yankees, NY Giants, and NY Rangers. The VOTL.com is also simulcast on Bleacher Report.
