Freshman Avion Candice Ashton netted her first two collegiate goals Friday to propell Utica past Oswego State in field hockey action at Laker Field. Sophomore Brittany Roetzer (pictured) scored her forst goal of the season for the Lakers, as did junior co-captain Kim Hiffa. But it was not enough as the Pioneers escaped with a 4-2 victory.The loss dropped Oswego's record to 0-2, making this at least the fourth straight season the Lakers have dropped their first two contests. Meanwhile, Utica earned their first victory after limping to an 0-3 start.
