Chiefs Go National

The Syracuse Chiefs baseball club has just announced that they are the new Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals.  The move signals the end of a 31-year partnership between the Chiefs and Toronto Blue Jays.

From The Post-Standard's Matt Michael:

With the Chiefs-Nationals' marriage, the game of musical chairs between major league and Triple-A teams is nearly over. The New York Mets, who had been Syracuse's No. 1 choice, are going to Buffalo, the Cleveland Indians to Columbus, and the Los Angeles Dodgers to Albuquerque.
