Polls Are Out; Oswego is #1

Oswego State will go into a season as the top-ranked team in the nation. Last season, the Lakers earned a co-#1 ranking in the Jan. 2 USCHO poll. This is the first time in school history that the Lakers are in sole possession of the top spot.

Oswego State was a near-unanimous #1, receiving 18 of 19 votes. Middlebury, the school Oswego State defeated in the national title game, received the only other first-place vote and is ranked third.

St. Norbert, the team Oswego State beat in the national semifinals is #2. They could face the Lakers Dec. 30th in the second round of the 2nd Annual Pathfinder Bank Oswego Hockey Classic.

Plattsburgh
also cracked the pre-season poll, they're ranked #14.

The Lakers' first opponent, Elmira, received 13 votes but didn't crack the top 15.
