Oswego State senior Heather Merino led all scorers with 20 points on 7-of-17 shooting. Merino was the only starter immune to the shooting woes as Kayla Ryan, Rachel Kohrs, Tricia Sullivan, and Traci Bacon combined to shoot 12-for-43 on the night.
Former Liverpool High standout Lauren Pluchino (pictured) helped spark Clarkson's comeback. The sophomore came off then bench to score all 16 of her points after the half. She also managed to pull down ten rebounds to record a double-double and help the Knights improve their record to 5-6.
The loss drops Oswego State's record to 4-6 on the season. They have lost six of their last eight games since starting the season with a pair of victories. This marks the second straight year the Lakers have gone on a mid-season slide under coach Tracy Bruno as they lost six straight from Dec. 28, 2007 to Jan. 19, 2008.
Oswego State will look to end their skid tonight at Cortland. The Lakers will have their hands full as the Red Dragons have won seven of their last eight, including a 40-point victory over Clarkson on Tuesday. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on WNYOsports.com.
