Auggies Scores Six Straight, Advance to Pathfinder Final

Augsburg College made the 1,000-plus mile journey to the Campus Center Ice Arena worth their while this afternoon with a 6-2 come-from-behind victory over Babson. The Auggies fell behind early as Babson recorded a pair of forst period markers, but it was all Augsburg from there.

Chris Johnson scored the first of his two goals before the first horn to cut the Babson lead in half and Mario Mjelleli evened the score with a tally in the game's 34th minute. The third period was the stage for an Auggie outburst as Joel Sauer, Jim Jensen, Johnson, and John Lennartson all found the back of the net for Augsburg.

Babson outshot Augsburg 40-26, but Andrew Kent made 38 stops in net for the Auggies. Meanwhile, Beaver backstop Skylar Nipps was pulled midway through the third after letting in his fifth goal. Augsburg improves their record to 3-7-0 on the season and will play the winner of Oswego and Skidmore tomorrow night in the Pathfinder Bank Oswego Hockey Classic Championship Game. Babson falls to 3-4-1 and will play in the consolation game tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m.
