Men's Hockey Ranked 6th in First USCHO Poll

The Oswego State Lakers are ranked sixth in the first USCHO men's division III national poll of the 2008-09 season. Elmira (2-0-0) is ranked third after their opening weekend victories over Morrisville (0-1-1) and the Lakers (0-1-0), although it is unclear if those victories were taken into account of the voting, as last year's record is listed for all teams.

Defending national champion St. Norbert tops the poll, they garnered 14 of a possible 20 first place votes. Plattsburgh, last year's SUNYAC champion and national runner up, is second and took in five votes for first. Adrian was also given a first place vote and round out the top ten; the Bulldogs won 26 of 29 games last year in their first season of college hockey.

The Potsdam Bears showed up on seven voters' polls after a solid season under first year coach Aaron Saul in 2007-08. The Bears finished 10-13-4, a five-win improvement from the season before, and made the semifinals of the SUNAYC postseason tournament.
