The Spokane Chiefs beat the host Kitchener Rangers 4-1 Sunday to capture their second Memorial Cup. The Memorial Cup is the most prestigious trophy in Canadian major junior hockey. Columbus draft pick Steve Mason was on the Ranger roster but did not play as he is recovering from knee surgery. Mason will likely see time in net for the Syracuse Crunch next season.

In Memoriam: Memorial Cup

I'm a sports reporter who most recently covered Syracuse University football for Clear Channel Syracuse (620 WHEN & 570 WSYR).
I attended SUNY Oswego where I majored in Broadcasting-
Mass Communications. I was also the Voice of the Lakers (VOTL) from 2007-2009 on 88.9 FM WNYO Oswego. It was during this time that I created this blog, then known as the WNYO Sports Blog. Upon leaving Oswego, I took the blog with me. I am a supporter of SU & Oswego State Athletics, as well as the New York Yankees, NY Giants, and NY Rangers. The VOTL.com is also simulcast on Bleacher Report.
