Oswego State men's basketball raced out to a 13-point halftime lead and held on for an 81-65 win over SUNYIT at the Campus Center in Utica, N.Y. Wednesday night. Sophomore Mahamoud Jabbi led all scorers with a career-high 26 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Jabbi connected on 11 of his 17 shot attempts.Guards Kyle Reuter and Nick Perioli provided a balanced back-court scoring attack. Reuter poured in 15 points and collected three steals at the defensive end. Perioli dished out three assists to go along with his 16 points and five rebounds. Senior Dom White was a solid presence in the paint with three blocks and 11 rebounds.
The Lakers have won 9 of 10 and to improve their overall mark to 17-5. They currently sit second in the SUNYAC West with a record of 11-3. The Lakers will finish their regular season on the road this weekend at Fredonia and Buffalo State. Oswego State is in line to host a conference quarterfinal game Feb 26.
