OSWEGO - Oswego State senior point guard Nick Perioli was named SUNYAC Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 13, 2008. Perioli shared the weekly award with Brockport's Sherod Harris.Nick Perioli is a native of Liverpool and graduate of Liverpool High School.
Perioli led the Lakers to a 2-1 record on the week with a pair of SUNYAC wins at home over New Paltz and Oneonta, and a non-league loss at St. Lawrence. The point guard had 16 assists and just one turnover in the three games, and set a new Oswego State record for career steals. Perioli now has 188 steals in his Laker career, passing the old record of 186 which was held by Jeff Williams, who played for the Lakers from 1997-2001.
Perioli averaged 18.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game in the three contests last week, including 23 against Oneonta in a 79-73 Oswego State win. Perioli was 8-for-8 from the free throw line on Saturday and was 13-for-14 on the week.
