Brockport Pummels Lakers

The Oswego State men's basketball team failed to overtake Brockport for first place in the SUNYAC West division. The Golden Eagles led for the game's final 37 minutes and 36 seconds en route to a 90-76 conference victory. Brockport pulled down 25 rebounds at the offensive end and coverted that into 33 second-chance points. For the game, the Eagles out-rebounded Oswego State 52-35.

Junior guard Tommy Downing led the Lakers with 18 points and six assists. Senior co-captain Dom White shot 5-for-7 from the field to add 10 points before leaving the game with an apparent knee injury. Sophomore Mahamoud Jabbi also reached double-figures with 12 points. The normally-potent back court duo of Nick Perioli and Kyle Reuter was held to just 12 points.

Brockport also managed to put three scorers in double figures, all led by a 25-point, 10 rebound effort from senior forward Brandon Williams. Pre-season All-American Sherod Harris added 13 points while sophomore Cantrel Parrish tallied 18.

The Lakers fall to 8-4 with the loss, 3-2 in the SUNYAC. Brockport wins their third straight and improves to 8-5, 4-0 in conference.
