Oswego State wins Max Ziel Tip-Off Classic title

The Oswego State men's basketball team beat the College of St. Joseph 84-66 Sunday in the final game of the Max Ziel Tip-Off Classic in Oswego. Laker junior Kyle Reuter scored 18 of his 27 points in the second half, and the Lakers used a 15-1 second-half run to overcome a 31-point, 18-rebound effort from St. Joseph's Rui Carmo.

Nick Perioli contributed 22 points and four assists. The senior co-captain was awarded the Most Outstanding Player award of the Max Ziel Tip-Off Classic. Tom Downing provided help at the defensive end with five steals. Sophomore Mohamoud Jabbi finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds.

The Lakers improved to 2-0 on the season. St. Joseph's fell to 0-4. The Lakers return to action Nov. 26 when they visit Cazenovia. Oswego State returns home Nov. 30 for their SUNYAC opener against Potsdam.

Joining Perioli on the All-Tournament team were teammates Kyle Reuter and Mahamoud Jabbi. Rui Carmo of St. Joseph's and John Grazioli of Hobart.
