2nd Period Recap

Another interesting period here from the Tuttle Ice Arena. Ryan Ellis notched his third goal of the season and first of the night only two minutes and four seconds into the period. It was an even strength goal assisted by Peter Magagna and Rich Zalewski. It was the second assist of the night for both players.

Neil Musselwhite scored his second goal of the night and fifth of the year just over three minutes later. It was a powerplay goal assisted by C.J. Thompson. Musselwhite put a beautiful move on goaltender Greg Van't Hof and had a wide open net for his backhand goal.

This period was relatively clean, until 14:36 into the period. Thompson went to lay a hit on Tony Marinello and lost his balance. Thompson crushed Marinello up against the boards and rose slowly. Marinello lay prone on the ice for several seconds before finally moving. Brockport's trainer came out and Marinello skated off the ice under his own power.

Thompson was given a five minute major for checking from behind, as well as a ten minute game misconduct, Oswego's second of the night. Both penalties were called by, you guessed it, Bob Baldwin. Thompson was sent to the locker room for the rest of the night but is allowed to play in the Lakers' next game.

Brockport wasted no time scoring on the man advantage. Steve Seedhouse scored his fourth goal of the season only thirty seconds into the five minute major. Oswego didn't allow another goal by Brockport, and the teams went to the locker room with the score Oswego 4, Brockport 1.
